Dawn Rogers, Director of Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs) for Retail Business Services, the services company of Ahold Delhaize USA, has received statewide recognition for her dedication to the HR profession in North Carolina.

Dawn was recently awarded the Richard “Dick” Peoples Professional of the Year Award by the North Carolina Society for Human Resources Management (NCSHRM) State Council. This award is given in recognition of service to the HR community and the HR profession, leadership in the business community, and service to the community within the past calendar year.

Dawn was a member of the 2020 NCSHRM Conference Planning Committee, and said the team managed to keep the honor a secret from her. This year’s event was held virtually in mid-September.

“I was so surprised to hear the awards announcement – we were in our committee Zoom meeting on the first day of the conference when the announcement was made,” she said.

Dawn was nominated for her track record of successfully translating business needs into people solutions, her extensive experience in building practical, business-focused approaches for change management, organizational design, employee engagement, talent assessment and development.

A founding member of LakeNormanHR, a chapter of the Society for HR Management, Dawn has held leadership positions, including secretary, president-elect and president. LakeNormanHR also received recognition at the NCSHRM Conference as the 2020 Distinguished Chapter.

Earlier this year, Dawn was named to Progressive Grocer’s 2020 Top Women in Grocery list.

Dawn is a graduate of the State University of New York’s Institute of Technology at Utica and Rome, N.Y. She has served seven years on the Board of the Partnership for Young Children, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing learning and healthy development of children from birth to age 5. In her spare time, she loves to go camping with her family or curl up with the latest James Patterson book.
