Each year, Progressive Grocer recognizes the Top Women in Grocery, a prestigious list of women in grocery retail demonstrating outstanding leadership capabilities and honorable achievements. In the "Rising Stars" category for 2018 is Anne Morrone, Manager, Logistics for Retail Business Services.

A first-time recipient, Anne leads Retail Business Services logistics team, which provides solutions local brands of Ahold Delhaize USA. Responsible for the department's finances, she oversees and reports on the budget and has influence in recommending, testing, designing, integrating and implementing systems and supports order processing, management, warehouse operations, third-party transportation and banner transportation.

Over the past year, Anne developed and managed Retail Business Services’ Integrated Management System, an inbound logistics initiative that positively impacted all distribution and transportation functions. Ultimately, the ITM will drive efficiency by removing $10 million from supply chain operations and enabling improved visibility and execution.

A collaborative leader, she works across organizational departments to serve customers internally and externally. Further, Anne coaches associates to help them understand the strategic approach, enabling savings and execution. She does this because similar coaching and opportunities were vital to her own success.

"I've had the pleasure of working with associates from many areas of Supply Chain over the years, and I've learned how to be a better leader from each and every one of them," said Anne. "Each manager I worked with afforded me the opportunity to work on unique projects that allowed me to network and gain a broader understanding of the grocery retail industry."
